West Coast Meter has been upfitting commercial vehicles since the early 1950’s beginning with the taxi industry. We currently install data terminals, satellite tracking, security cameras, forward crash avoidance technology, cellular modems, a wide variety of automotive accessories and two-way radio sales and service.
We have installed and continue to service several of the largest radio/data fleets throughout British Columbia, including some of BC’s largest highways maintenance fleets. We are also contracted by various Law Enforcement Agencies in the Metro Vancouver area to assist in accessing camera images during investigations.
We provide upfitting of vehicles for various government agencies; specifically installation of DMI (Distance Measurement Instruments), as well as providing equipment for the various motion picture production companies.
Annually, we upfit in excess of 600 vehicles. Over the last several years as the automotive industry has continued to evolve, we have had the opportunity to upfit more than 5000 Hybrid vehicles.

Automotive Alarms
WCM has been installing alarms in commercial vehicles for over a decade; alarms from the basic model to full features of auto door lock, remote start, cold start and two-way paging.
Cameras
With the introduction of Mobile Cameras, WCM has regularly been awarded contracts to install and/or upgrade in excess of 1200 surveillance cameras for the taxicab industry in the Metro Vancouver area.
Cameras are designed for day and night use; providing a reliable eyewitness account when required; also available with GPS option.
Emergency & Commercial Vehicle Lighting
As an authorized dealer of D&R Electronics products, WCM provides sales, installation and service of the latest in vehicle safety lighting products, sirens, speakers and switches.
In-Vehicle Laptop and MDT Mounting Solutions
WCM can create a custom mounting solution for your electronic devices, custom tailored to the end use.
Measuring Devices
WCM has been installing distance measuring devices since the early 1950’s, with our roots in taximeter service. Centrodyne and various other vehicle installed Distance Measuring Instruments (DMI) are used in a variety of applications.
Mobile Power Solutions
Authorized dealer of Valterra Power CA, suppliers of Pure Sine and Modified Sine Wave Power Inverters, WCM installs inverters from 150 watt to 3000 watt for all AC power requirements in vehicles. Whatever your power demand needs, we can accommodate.
Two Way Radios
WCM provides sales, installation and service for virtually all mobile communications equipment; we also design and set-up remote repeater sites. We service several of the largest fleets in the Province of BC.
